Esteban Gutierrez says there are some "good options" for his future - including some in F1 - following his departure from Haas.

The Mexican confirmed via his Twitter account that he will leave Haas at the end of the season, with Kevin Magnussen poised to replace him. While the decision has come late in the season - something Gutierrez bemoaned on Thursday - the 25-year-old says he has a number of other options he can now analyse.

“I think it was an important moment because I think everybody [could see] there was a lot of rumours around and I think it was important for everybody to know it from me," Gutierrez told Sky Sports. "So, yes, that’s the situation at the moment. I’m working on different projects and I will see what’s going to be the best for myself and for my future.

“We’ve been working on different options. Fortunately there are good options there so I’m working on them. There are different projects and we’ll take a decision soon.”

When asked if he is talking to Sauber about a return to his former team, Gutierrez replied: “Well … there are different projects, as I said!

"Some of them are in Formula One, yes there are some seats open which are being considered but at the moment it’s a bit too soon to make a decision. Probably from Monday I will sit down, revise all of them and see what’s convenient for my future.”
