It'll be a home race for Felipe Nasr this weekend in Brazil, and the Sauber driver will be pulling out all the stop to try and secure a much needed points finish for the Swiss outfit.

Nasr has taken his C35 close to a top ten finish on several occasions this season and he hopes racing on home turf will provide a little extra boost which could help him finally accomplish that result.

"I am really looking forward to my second home Grand Prix," said Nasr.

"Overall I had a nice experience last year. The Brazilian Grand Prix is certainly a very special race weekend for me. It is always great to see the Brazilian fans and have their support at the race track.

"I cannot wait to race at such an historical track that I really enjoy driving on. I expect a warm welcome and a lot of fans in Interlagos."

" I will be fighting to get a good result there, and it would be great if I could have the chance to score points at my home race. Hopefully my home soil can also bring us a bit of luck."

After a good rookie season in 2015, Nasr has endured a frustrating time this year as he's endured Sauber's performance slump. The Brazilian has been the subject of some speculation with rumors of him switching to Williams, Renault or Force India.

The latter still hasn't officially announced who shall race alongside Sergio Perez in 2017 but all clues point to Mercedes protege Esteban Ocon.

As it currently stands, Felipe Nasr will either be committing to a third season with Sauber or to a year out of Formula 1.
