Ferrari team principal Maurizio Arrivabene wants to regain passion within the team which he believes was “lost in the past few years”.
Since the end of 2014, Ferrari has overseen a major overhaul of key personnel including Arrivabene coming in as team principal under new chairman Sergio Marchionne. Following the launch of the team’s 2015 car - the SF15-T - Arrivabene was asked if the changes have seen any difference in Ferrari’s philosophy, but says he believes old values need to be recaptured to help the team improve.
“It doesn’t affect the philosophy of Ferrari,” Arrivabene said. “The philosophy of Ferrari was dictated by the founder, Enzo Ferrari. The work we have to do is to enhance the team spirit, the passion - that was a little bit lost in the past few years - and to look forward to work together very hard with one objective: to win as much as possible.”
Focusing on Enzo Ferrari's philosophies, Arrivabene admits he is a fan of the way the SFT15-T looks even if its relative performance remains unknown.
“Enzo Ferrari said a long time ago the best car is the winning car. Last year we had an ugly car and it was a non-winning car on top of this. I like the car of this year in terms of aesthetics. I don’t know about the performance but it’s really sexy."
