Sauber has continued its recruitment drive with the arrival of Nicolas Hennel de Beaupreau as Head of Aerodynamics.
The team has been looking to recruit new staff members in key positions after its takeover by Longbow Finance, with Sauber having been on an uncertain financial footing prior to the deal being completed. On the aerodynamics side, former Lotus man Hennel de Beaupreau has been brought in to take on the role full-time after it was previously split between engineers.
"The Sauber F1 Team is pleased to announce that it has been able to employ another key technical member of staff by appointing Nicolas Hennel de Beaupreau as new Head of Aerodynamics," the team said in a statement.
"The 43-year old Frenchman started at the Sauber F1 Team headquarters in Hinwil at the beginning of September. Hennel de Beaupreau has worked for several Formula 1 teams; previously he worked as Head of Aerodynamics at the Lotus F1 Team.
"Mariano Alperin-Bruvera and Seamus Mullarkey, who split the position as Head of Aerodynamics on an interim bases, will be back in their previous positions."
Alperin-Bruvera reverts to working on aerodynamic development, while Mullarky is responsible for aerodynamic research.
Sauber has recently added former Toro Rosso race engineer Xevi Pujolar as Head of Track Engineering, while the team has made clear it is looking to recruit a new Technical Director at some stage. Further senior announcements are expected in the coming weeks.
