Rosberg not worrying about Hamilton in Monaco

Nico Rosberg says he is only worrying about Daniel Ricciardo and not team-mate Lewis Hamilton in today's Monaco Grand Prix.

Ricciardo took his first pole position on Saturday, ending a dominant run of 11 consecutive poles for Mercedes. Rosberg starts from second place ahead of Hamilton and holds a big cushion over the defending champion in the drivers' championship but when asked if he is looking at his team-mate at all Rosberg replied: "No, I look forward.

"I want to win the race and that’s what I’m here for. That’s why I was a bit disappointed with [qualifying], because I was hoping for pole. The focus is just on winning the race and I don’t want to think beyond that at all in anyway because that’s what I want to achieve."

Both Hamilton and Rosberg had fuel pressure concerns during Q3 but the championship leader says he is not worried by recent reliability problems at Mercedes.

"No, not at all. It’s not within my control, so I just focus on my job and the things that I can influence, which is just doing the best job I can out there. That’s it and I also trust the team a lot to sort these things out quickly.

"Of course it's clear that it is not ideal and it's a priority at the moment because we are having too many issues."
