F1 drivers beat Ranieri's All Stars in Monaco charity match

The two-decade tradition which precedes the Monaco Grand Prix weekend saw Captain Fernando Alonso and his troops defeat Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri's All Stars in yesterday's charity football match.

Alonso, Spanish GP victor Max Verstappen and Toro Rosso's Carlos Sainz were among the F1 stars who appeared at Monaco's Stade Louis II to confront an all-star line-up coached by the familiar face of Claudio Ranieri, who led Leicester to a stunning Premier League triumph.

The drivers were quick in action and about as crafty on the pitch as they are in a racing car as they defeated their opponents, led by Captain Prince Albert of Monaco, 3-1.

Truth be told however that the drivers' team  did get a bit of a helping hand - or rather foot - from French legends Emmanuel Petit and William Gallas.

Every year, the entertaining game raises money for underprivileged children through the efforts of the AMADE Monaco charity.
