Kvyat looking to recover from Monaco frustrations in Montreal

Toro Rosso's Dany Kvyat hopes he won't be on the receiving end of a rival's mistake in Canada, like what happened to him in Monaco.

The Russian was looking forward to a well-deserved top-ten finish in the Principality when an ambitious move by Force India's Sergio Perez knocked him out of the race.

The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve offers its own set of difficult challenges, but also an environment where there should be no shortage of overtaking opportunities.

But before springing into action on Friday morning, he'll be enjoying the scenery and city's festive mood.

"I really like Montreal, it’s one of the coolest cities we travel to," says Kvyat.

"There’s a lot of good streets to walk around and do some shopping, many good restaurants and bars… The atmosphere there is just fantastic!

"The track is also quite unique, as it has many chicanes and a few long straights.

"Trying to put a lap together there is never easy, and you need to build the pace throughout the weekend.

"It’s a good place to go racing as there are many good opportunities for overtaking."
