Horner not holding radio outburst against Verstappen

Max Verstappen lost it in the heat of a moment on Sunday when he responded with a censured quip to the news that his team's pit strategy had put him behind team mate Daniel Ricciardo.

The foul-mouthed riposte was delivered loud and clear into Christian Horner's headphones but the Red Bull Racing boss isn't holding it against his driver.

"When you end up with your teammate in front of you when he was behind you, you can be angry," Horner told Auto-Hebdo.

"But once the circumstances were explained, everything was in order."

Ricciardo was on the podium in Monaco ahead of both Mercedes, but Horner says that does not mean Red Bull's 2017 troubles are now effectively over.

While the Milton Keynes-based outfit continues to improve its RB13 chassis, it also awaits a step forward from engine partner Renault.

"I am worried about Montreal, Baku and Spielberg," he said.

"They will be the biggest challenges along with Monza.

"If we manage to do well on those three tracks, what we have in the pipeline should enable us to have a much better second half of the season."
