Lewis Hamilton says he will need to spend his Friday night seeking a way of closing the gap to team-mate Nico Rosberg at the Belgian Grand Prix.
Rosberg was fastest in both Friday practice sessions, extending his advantage to more than 0.3s by the end of FP2 despite reliability problems and a high-speed tyre failure. Hamilton says he needs to look for areas where he can close the gap if he wants to take pole position on Saturday.
"Nico is very quick, so I will have to do some work tonight to try to see if I can find some more time, but I’m not particularly worried," Hamilton said.
"We had no problems, it was great fun and the weather was good today and that makes it so more enjoyable. With Eau Rouge and the whole track it’s such a great place so I enjoyed it."
Following Rosberg's tyre failure, Hamilton says he cannot allow himself to have any extra concerns when out on track.
"I have to have trust in the car and the tyres that they will hold together and I have to push and get the balance right."
