Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo says his ultimate F1 circuit would be a blend of Suzuka, Spa-Francorchamps, and Monaco, one of the three most iconic venues on the calendar.

Asked by the official Formula One website to pick three different sectors from three different tracks in order to build the perfect grand prix destination, the Australian ace replied: “Sector 1, Japan; probably sector 2, Spa; and probably sector 3, Monaco.”

Featuring the daunting S Curves and Dunlop corner, the opening segment of Suzuka sees the drivers dance on the throttle and change direction at high speed.

Coming after Eau Rouge and the long Kemmel straight, the second sector of Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps begins with the tricky Les Combes braking and chicane, then cascades downhill towards the double left-hander of Pouhon and finishes at Stavelot.

Monaco’s final sector starts with the famous Piscine complex. If running in clean air, the drivers take it at 200kph and can even go full throttle in between chicanes. Then, they travel through the tight Rascasse at low speed before tackling the Anthony Noghes corner and accelerating towards the finish line.

Out of the three tracks Ricciardo has picked for his ultimate F1 circuit, the 26-year-old has already won at Spa and is a podium finisher in Monaco, while his best result to date at Suzuka is P4.
