Force India is set to bring further updates to its B-spec car after the mid-season break following its successful introduction at the British Grand Prix.
Having embarked on a major overhaul of its aerodynamic department, Force India was finally able to run the B-spec VJM08 at Silverstone, scoring points with both cars. Deputy team principal Bob Fernley told F1i before the update was tested there is “more in the pipeline” if the car delivered as expected, and with the team now focused on fighting Red Bull for fourth in the constructors’ championship he confirms more updates will follow.
Asked what Force India has scheduled for the upcoming races, Fernley replied: “More stuff!
“It’s all aero obviously but hopefully we should be introduce it if we’re fortunate by Spa, but surely by Monza.”
However, Fernley says nothing will be as radically innovative as the nose which Force India raced with for the first time at the British Grand Prix.
“No, it’s enhancing further what we’ve got downstream. But obviously [Silverstone] was a massive step and it was a complete change of philosophy. Without giving anything away I think we came out with a bit of a surprise with the aero package.”
