LOOKING TO BE A CUT ABOVE THE REST

Further evidence of this convergence could be seen in Toro Rosso’s new spec of bargeboard, which features an extra cut. Aero development rate is very high, even in the midfield, as analysed by Toro Rosso's Technical Director James Key: “I think the most noticeable will be aero, because it is still the biggest area controlled by the teams. I think for everyone there is still a lot to find. I looked at what we are targeting for 2018 for example and it’s another big step, which is hard to even imagine having now.”

TORO ROSSO’S SERRATED TURNING VANES

The STR12 also donned serrated turning vanes, a design first devised by Mercedes on the 2016-spec Silver Arrow and carried over on this year’s W08 as well as on Force India’s VJM10.

The above review does not intend to be an exhaustive list. One can also mention Haas’ monkey seat winglet, Force India’s revised floor and bargeboards, Toro Rosso’s cockpit winglets and revamped monkey seat, etc.
