Sometimes it just doesn’t pay to try. Vettel knew something was direly amiss even before joining the grid and the slot on row one inherited from Bottas’ grid penalty. When the lights went out, he went backwards, parking the Ferrari on lap 4. A shame for F1 fans for what should have been one hell of a battle with Lewis Hamilton.
