For the first time since 2009, Ferrari locked out row one, but Mercedes made it two all in victories. At the end of the day, Valtteri Bottas and Sebastian Vettel saved what was a snoozer of a GP.

Fernando Alonso (did not start) : No Score

From bad to worse ! This time (like Vandoorne in Bahrain), Fernando didn’t even take the start. The culprit, as always, was the blasted engine and its electronics. The only consolation: he had nothing to hope for, seeing how many seconds the McLaren were down (more than 35kph slower than Mercedes!) on this hard accelerating and hard braking circuit. Nevertheless, by his own admission, his flying lap in Q1 was quasi perfect. Let’s hope it'll also be that way for Indy testing…
