Great memories from Adelaide

Adelaide

There was a time when the Formula One season actually ended in Australia, around the streets of Adelaide, which resulted in unabated and unbridled partying after the curtail had fallen on the championship. The capital city of South Australia hosted its inaugural Grand Prix in 1985 and quickly became an F1 favourite thanks to its provincial charm and convivial atmosphere. Keke Rosberg, the father of Mercedes driver Nico, clinched his final Grand Prix win in a Williams-Honda there, finishing ahead of Jacques Laffite and Philippe Streiff.
