Pole but no role for Jarier in Argentina

The 1975 F1 season kicked off on this day in Argentina where Jean-Pierre Jarier put himself and the Shadow team on pole for the very first time.

It was wretched luck however for the Frenchman who failed to even make it to the grid when the Shadow DN5's transmission broke down on the parade lap!

Much to the pleasure of the crowd, local hero Carlos Reutemann took an early lead but ultimately, McLaren's Emerson Fittipaldi would prevail.
