Remembering Bruce McLaren

Look back

Today marks the 45th anniversary of Bruce McLaren's death. A true jack of all trades, the New Zealand racer won four Formula One Grand Prix, became a two-time Can-Am series champion, and claimed outright victory during the 1966 Le Mans 24 Hours with fellow countryman Chris Amon. Three years earlier, he had founded what is now the McLaren F1 team, the second oldest active squad in the sport behind Ferrari.
